Elk hunting with rifle or bow on the border of Yellowstone Park for resident and migratory elk. Hunt from our main lodge and two permanent spike camps on over 20 square miles of private ground. In addition to great elk hunting, we have muley and whitetail deer and great fishing on our private lake.

We run our bow hunts in mid to late September, hunting the best two weeks of the bow hunting season. The elk are at the peak of the rut at this time, and the bulls are responsive. We have had a 90% plus opportunity rate in bow season on mature 5x5 or better bulls for over 6 years. We are hunting our private land with a maximum of 4 bow hunters in camp at one time.

Our bow hunting camp is located along the creek bottom of Tom Miner Basin. During the bow hunting season, the elk will work this bottomland, with the big bull elk coming out of the high mountains to get to the cow elk at the bottom. We will locate elk and then move into position to start calling. We can use vehicles to move around the ranch to some degree, then we can usually make a relatively short hike into position. We will hunt hard in the morning, return to camp for a big lunch and a nap, and hunt hard in the evening.

Our camp is a metal bunk house. Well insulated, bunk beds, woodstove, dedicated cook and plenty of good food, lots of cold beer, shooting targets, TV with DVD player, and friendly faces make the camp a welcome sight after a good hunt.

The hunts are 7 nights and 6 days of hunting with 2 on 1 guide service, and cost $5000. We require a 50% deposit and the balance is due 30 days prior to the start of the hunt. References happily available upon request. If you draw blood you are done hunting for that species. Tags are a draw - about $925 for deer and elk. March 15 deadline with mid April results. Draw percentage has been 100%. Please contact us for more information on this process.
